High tea from Het Apeldoorns Koffiehuys

At the Apeldoorns Koffiehuys you can have a high tea. While this Corona virus is going around, it is hard to sit at this restaurant to have this high tea (restrictions, etc). So, they offer the high tea at home.

You order it at the restaurant or online. And they will bring it at your door. There will be an instruction in the box of how to make the sandwiches yourself. Easy to do so. 

The only hard choice you have to make, is which kind of high tea you want. You can choose from: 

- high tea (the most chosen one)

- kids high tea

- high tea koffiehuys

- lunch high tea

- breakfast high tea

- picknick high tea

You can order these high teas with gluten free or vegan. 

On 05 December 2021 I had the regular high tea. With this one, you will get: 

Homemade pies:

- apple pie

- brownie

- carrot cake

- walnut-coconot pie

It is served with fresh whipped cream. 

Sandwich:

- smoked salmon 

- fresh egg salad 

- cucumber with mayonnaise 

And finally a wrap with carpaccio, pesto, Parmesan cheese, Pine nuts and sun dried tomato. 

I loved all of it! 😁 It is yummie and tasty. 

The high tea will be delivered in a little pink electic van. Cute to see! Unfortunately I don't have a pic from the van...

Bakery museum in Hattem, the Netherlands

In this museum you will find information regarding the making of bread and pastery. It is shown in 2 buildings. You will also find instruments used during the making. These ones are pretty old.  

The bakery of the museum excist for 150 years. It is still in use. 

If you are up to it, you can make your own bread in a workshop. For classes there will be a treasure hunt.

Walk around in Hattem, the Netherlands

 Hattem is an old city. The city was named around 800AD. It is one of the several Hanseatic City in the country. Today you will find some remains of this period in the defending wall, the Tower and some buildings.

In the city centre you can have a nice walk. You can look for the old buildings, church, shopping streets and museums. Have a rest in one of the restaurants.

Kasteel Staverden, The Netherlands

 Around 1300 count Reinoud I. van Gelre build the castle and some houses. It was his idea to make a village/town out of Staverden, but that never happened. Various dukes of Gelre used the house as a hunting lodge. 

The present house was build in 1904-1905 by Frederik Bernard. He was a mayor of Rotterdam. His family sold the house in 1962 to the foundation Het Geldersch Landschap. This foundation makes restorations to the buildings and area around it. 

The site is also a perfect location for a wedding. It also host a brasserie (restaurant).

You can walk around on the estate. There are 3 routes you can do. The yellow, blue and red route. The yellow and blue routes are both 3 kilometer long, but goes different directions. The red route is 3.5 kilometer long. On 11 October 2021 I did the yellow route. Despite I had some rain during the route, it was really nice to walk around.

High tea september 2021

For my birthday I got a high tea as a present. On 18 September I went for this hight tea. The high tea took place at Royal Daan. It is a little lunchroom. A great place to hang out! 😊 The service is great as well. 

During the hight tea I had the following tea:

Ice tea from roses

Hot rose tea

Lady grey tea

Champagne truffle tea

For the eating part I had the following:

Scone with strawberry jam / whipped cream / lemon curd

Small strawberry cheesecake, strawberry with chocolate around it on a stick, salmon sandwich, cheese sandwich, various vegetable sandwich and beef patty sandwich.

Small quiche.

Shaved ice from rose tea.

Shortbread with caramel and pure chocolate, small white chocolate pie and a hazelnut lolly.

The portions of the food were the right size. Not too much and not too little. The whole hight tea was quite enough.

I just loved the whole experience! 😍
