It was time to go on a daytrip to Elten. Elten is just a 35 minutes car drive from my hometown.
First stop was the post office. Mailed a stack of envelopes. German stamps are way cheaper then Dutch stamps. I mail about 90% of my mail in Germany. Also had to buy new stamps.
Next stop was the backery at the square. The backery is named Horsthemke. They sell various sandwiches, pies and bread. You can take it with you or you can sit in and have a drink as well. Today I had a sandwich with brie and a cup of tea. Yum! 😋After lunch I went to Sint-Vitus church in Hoch Elten. This church stands on a hill. From here you will have great views over the Rheintal. From here there are various walking trials you can attend. Today it was the first time I did a hike. In the Netherlands it is all flat, but here it isn't. So, I started to do a 3 kilometer hike. First it went downhill through the forrest. Which was nice and easy to walk. Then it was a part through the village. Finally it went up & up back to the church. This part wasn't that easy. Not used to go up that steap... But I managed. 😁 When I finished this walk, I had to sit down for a few minutes. It was nice to sit in the sun and add vitamin D. 😊
Once I finished resting, I went to a grocery store in Kleve. Bought some stuff over there.
Last stop for the day: the petrol station. At 10am the price for a liter was € 1,80. When I was there (around 3pm) the price was € 1,66. Love it when it is cheaper. 😇
