Bonaire 2024

 

Monday 9 September 

It is time to go abroad and outside Europe for a holiday. It has been 12 years ago since I flew abroad. This time I am going to Bonaire (Netherlands Antilles). First time visiting this island. This afternoon I am flying off. Wish me luck the flight will go smoothly! 🤞👍😉😃

Tuesday 10 September 

Bon bini Bonaire! With a 12 hour flight (and a stop over in Aruba & an hour delay due to maintenance on the he aircraft in Amsterdam) I arrived safely in Bonaire. Customs was easy and fast. My suitcase came pretty fast. The cab was waiting for me, so I was pretty fast at the hotel. After check in I went straight to bed. I didn't sleep that well. But at 6am I woke up and got dressed. Went for breakfast. In the morning I walked around at the area of the hotel. Afterwards back at the room to chill. And spot some birds and butterflies.

It is a hot and warm day today: +34C and humidity. There is a wind but a warm one. At one point I went for lunch. Sandwich meatball and a drink. It was yum! Once done, I went for a relaxing afternoon on a loungbed under a parasol. Reading, drinking.... I had the first mocktail of the holiday: virgin coconut. At one point it was too hot, so I went inside the hotel room and chill furthermore till dinner time.

Around 5.45pm I had dinner: lumbus with fries and salat. Followed with Dame Blanche for dessert. During the meal sunset was really pretty. When I finished dinner, I went back to the room to relax.

Wednesday 11 September 

Not much happened today. After breakfast I went for a swim in the ocean. Really great! Once I was done in the ocean, I relaxed for the rest of the day. Drinking, eating, enjoying the sun, reading...

Friday 13 September 

Yesterday and today nothing much happened. The same routine of waking up, having breakfast, spend about an hour in the water, laying on a sun bed to dry/read/drinking, having lunch, do siesta, having dinner, rest some more and go to bed and sleep.....

The day before yesterday and yesterday there was a big cruise ship in the harbour. Did not take a picture of it. But it is no surprise these boats are visiting Bonaire.

Apartment Zollhaus Utlandshörn, Norden, Germany

 

During my holiday in June 2024 I stayed at an apartment named Zollhaus in Utlandshörn.

I stayed here for a week. I had my own kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. Not huge, but big enough for myself. I even had 3 seating areas outside: one next to the front door, one next to the building and one in front of the building. The seating area next to the front door is the first one to have shades. Really great on a hot day. 

A walk on the dyke, Utlandshörn, Germany

 On a sunny day I made a walk on the dyke at Utlandshörn, Germany.

At the side that faces inland, you cannot have a walk. At the side that faces the sea, they made a walking path. Well, mainly it is for cyclist. You can have stroll as well. It is wide enough for both. The pavement you walk on is sloping. Just watch out a bit. For me it was no problem walking this pavement. 

As you could see in the pictures, the tide was low when I walked through ver there. It was no problem for me.

Although it was a warm and sunny day, it was nice to walk at the seaside with the breeze. Put sunscreen and a hat on!
