Appartment in Altastenberg, Germany

From 07 April to 14 April 2024 I stayed at an appartment named Ferienwohnungen Annegret Schuette. The owners are staying at the first floor. They have 2 appartments on the 2nd floor. One appartment is a small one and the other one is bigger one. I stayed at the smaller one. Big enough for me alone.

The appartment has a seating/kitchen area, bedroom, bathroom and a small closet to store some items (like a suitcase). Oh, there is also a balcony. Lovely to sit outside when it is a nice warm day.

Cable railway, Willingen, Germany 04-2024

Go up on the mountain! It is worth it. 

There are no mountains in my country (the Netherlands). When I visit a country that has mountains, I try to go up. The cable ride is going to a altitude of 830 meter. It is easy to step inside and outside the cart. The majority is for sitting. The rest is to put your bike in. At the top where go out, you can walk around or getting on your bike and go down the mountain.

At the mountain you will have great views over Willingen and the area. Ofcourse. 😊

The price of a return ticket is €13.50 (April 2024).

Glasmanufacturer Willingen, Germany 04-2024

 

This glasmanufacturer is making their own glas and sell them in their shop or webshop. It is really interesting what you can make out of glas. One better and nicer then the other one. 

When you enter the building you arrive directly in their shop. You can have a look around of all the glas they are making. 

During the day you can get a guide of how glas will be made. From Monday to Friday there are 4 times you can attend to see the guide: 10am, 11.30am, 2pm and 3.30pm. Saturday there are only 3 times: 10am, 11.30am and 2pm. The cost to see this guide is €5 for an adult. The guy who did this, was really great. He explained how glas is made of. This tour he made 3 items to show the technique: a bird, a flower and a vase. Once he finished the product, he put it in a 'cool off machine'. At the start of making the item, it is +1200C in the oven. When you cool it off in the open air like that, the glas will break. Putting it in this 'cool off machine', the item will gradually cool off in phases. This proces takes 13 hours.

It is possible to make your own glas item. You have to choose which one you would like to make and the colour you want. After the tour (about how to make glas), you can make your own glas with the guide.
