Roadtrip to Nordenau and Bad Berleburg

On this roadtrip I was going to Nordenau first. It is a tiny village and is 584 meter high. There are about 220 people living here, so not big at all. In the village you will find a ruin named Rappelstein. I thought there was much to see here, but it was a bit of a bummer to me. You only see 4 walls. And that's that... Anyway, the story goes that it was the home for noble men of the county. The city was a on the route of a trading road between Köln and Kessel/Leipzig. Dissagreements between the Earls of Waldeck and the archbishop of Köln, the ruin became more and more a destruction. In 1965 the city council decided to reconstruct the ruin to which you see today.

Nordenau is a lovely tiny village to walk around. You will have great views of the area as well.

Next stop is Bad Berleburg. This village is way much bigger then Nordenau. About 19,000 people living in this community. It is 420 meter high. As several people were parking their car at the parking lot of a supermarkt (it wasn't aloud, but people are doing it anyway), I parked my car over there as well. Made a quick stop at the supermarket, After that, I went for a walk in 2 main streets. Walked through a small park which was lovely. I also went to the post office to get some stamps (German stamps are waaayyyy cheaper the Dutch ones). The rest was really nice to see. 😊
